RAIPUR, Jan 3 — Security forces on Saturday killed 14 Maoist cadres in two separate encounters in Chhattisgarh as part of ongoing anti-Maoist operations, officials said.

In a separate incident, the bodies of two Maoist cadres were recovered from the forest area of Gaganpalli village under Basaguda police station limits in Bijapur district. One of them was identified as Hunga Madkam, officials said.
Security forces also recovered weapons from the site, including one self-loading rifle and a 12-bore rifle.
“With today’s operations, a total of 14 Maoists — 12 in Sukma and two in Bijapur — have been neutralised in two ongoing operations,” an official said.
Search operations in the surrounding forest areas were continuing, officials added.
