MOHALI, June 5: In a significant shake-up aimed at improving field efficiency and internal coordination, the Mohali police department transferred 24 personnel on Wednesday, including 11 station house officers (SHOs).
The orders, issued by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohali, reflect a department-wide reorganisation that affects police stations, specialised units, and support wings.
“The reshuffle is intended to streamline operations across the district and ensure effective service delivery,” said a senior police official.
Inspector Amandeep Singh, previously posted at the police lines, has taken charge as SHO of Sohana police station. Inspector Sunil Kumar, earlier heading Majri police station, will now lead the Kharar city station, replacing Inspector Ajitesh Kaushal, who has been posted to the Airport police station.
Inspector Navdeep Sharma has been transferred from Mullanpur to serve as SHO Sadar Kurali, while Inspector Amandeep Tarika moves to Mullanpur from the intelligence and field investigation unit.
Inspector Yogesh Kumar, who was heading the anti-human trafficking unit (AHTU), is now SHO Majri. Former SHO of Kurali Sadar, Inspector Gauravbans Singh, has been reassigned to Kurali city. Inspector Jashanpreet Singh has been transferred from IT City to lead Dhakoli police station.
Inspector Satinder Singh has replaced Gagandeep Singh as SHO Zirakpur, with the latter now in charge of AHTU. Inspector Simran Singh, earlier SHO Sohana, is now posted at Lalru, and Inspector Satwinder Singh, who served at Airport station, has taken over IT City.
Specialised units also saw leadership changes. Inspector Malkeet Singh, earlier at police lines, is now in charge of the anti-narcotic cell. Inspector Amandeep Kaur has moved from the cyber crime unit to head the women cell as SHO, while Sub-Inspector Baljinder Kaur has been transferred to the police lines.
Additionally, Assistant Sub-Inspector Prashant Sharma has been shifted from Matour to take charge of the Saneta police post. Multiple head constables and senior constables across the anti-narcotic cell, women cell, and CIA have also been reassigned.
The transfers are expected to improve inter-unit synergy and enhance public policing across the district.
