25 CU students to represent India at World University Games in Germany

CHANDIGARH, June 4– Twenty-five students from Chandigarh University (CU) have been selected to represent India at the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, scheduled in Germany from July 16 to 27. With this, CU has become the second-highest represented private university in India at the world’s largest multi-sport event for student athletes after the Olympics, the university claimed.

The biennial event, organised by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), will see participation from over 8,500 athletes and officials from 150+ countries across 18 disciplines.

CU athletes will compete in eight sports, including table tennis, athletics, swimming, judo, archery, fencing, rowing and volleyball. Key participants include Divyansh Srivastava, Syed Ali Abbas and Ananya Chande (table tennis), Priya, Tanushree, Tanya, and others in athletics, while Yash S Ghangas (judo), Aditya Dubey and Anurag Singh (swimming), and Avneet Kaur (archery) are among the other standouts.
