New Delhi, 8 February 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi credited the BJP’s landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections to the power of the people, declaring on Saturday that development and good governance had prevailed.
“The people’s power is supreme,” Modi said, thanking Delhi’s voters for delivering the BJP a historic mandate.
With the party securing a nearly two-thirds majority in the 70-member Assembly, Modi assured that the BJP would be fully committed to Delhi’s progress.
“We guarantee that we will leave no stone unturned for the all-round development of Delhi and to improve the lives of its residents,” he said, adding that the city would also play a key role in building a developed India.
Modi praised BJP workers for their relentless efforts in securing the victory. “I am proud of our workers who toiled day and night for this massive mandate. We will now serve the people of Delhi with even greater strength,” he said.
The BJP’s win marks the end of its 27-year wait for power in the national capital, reshaping the city’s political landscape.
