DEHRADUN, Dec. 13, 2025 — After completing rigorous training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), 491 cadets were commissioned as officers in the Indian Army during the Autumn Term 2025 Passing Out Parade on Saturday at the academy’s historic Drill Square. Army Chief Gen. Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the parade.
The ceremony also included 34 foreign cadets from 14 friendly countries, bringing the total strength of the parade to 525 officers from the 157th Regular Course, 46th Technical Entry Scheme, 140th Technical Graduate Course, 55th Special Commissioned Officers Course, and the Territorial Army Online Entrance Exam 2023 Course.
ACA Nishkal Dwivedi received the ‘Sword of Honour’ and gold medal for securing first place in overall training, while BUO Badal Yadav and SUO Kamaljeet Singh won silver and bronze medals, respectively. Among technical cadets, Officer Cadet Jadhav Sujit Sampat and WCC Abhinav Mehrotra were top performers, and Officer Cadet Sunil Kumar Chhetri led the Special Commission Officer Course. Foreign cadet JUO Mohammad Safin Ashraf from Bangladesh topped the merit list among international participants. Imphal Company was awarded the Army Chief’s Banner for overall best performance.
As the parade concluded, helicopters showered flowers on the newly commissioned officers. Gen. Dwivedi congratulated the cadets, praising their discipline, leadership, and endurance. “Joining the army marks the beginning of a lifelong duty and selfless service,” he said, urging officers to uphold the traditions of the Indian Army and serve the nation with loyalty and honour.
Parents and guardians attended the ceremony, witnessing the young officers take their first formal step into military service.
