Gurugram, 27 September — Five people, including three women, were killed and one man critically injured early Saturday morning when a Mahindra Thar lost control and collided with a divider near Exit 9 of the Delhi-Gurugram expressway.
The victims, all from Uttar Pradesh, were traveling to Gurugram for work. Police said the driver reportedly lost balance while negotiating the exit, causing the vehicle to crash at high speed.
“All five people, including three women and two men, died on the spot,” said Inspector Lalit Kumar, SHO of Sector 40 Police Station.
Preliminary investigations show that all six occupants had traveled together from Uttar Pradesh. The deceased include Pratishtha (25), Lavanya (26), Aditya (30), Gautam (31), and another woman, Soni,
“The Thar vehicle bears a Uttar Pradesh registration. We are currently investigating the matter,” Inspector Kumar added. A police team from Sector 40 responded promptly to the accident and rushed all occupants to the hospital.
Authorities are examining the exact cause of the crash and whether speeding or driver error was involved.
