YAMUNANAGAR: A 65-year-old prominent financier and transport businessman was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants in the high-security Model Town area on Thursday morning.
The deceased, identified as Harbhajan Singh, was a resident of Prem Nagar Colony. According to reports, the targeted attack took place at approximately 7:50 AM right as Singh stepped out of a local gym following his routine workout. Witnesses stated that the bike-borne duo, who were waiting outside the venue, ambushed Singh at close range and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Singh was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where attending medical staff declared him dead on arrival. Local police units arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting to secure the area. Law enforcement officials have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident and are actively scanning local CCTV footage to trace the escape route and establish the identities of the attackers.
