He also announced plans for 4,864 additional recruitments in PSPCL for 2025-26.

At an event in Chandigarh, the minister handed over appointment letters to 35 newly recruited Assistant Engineers.

Of these, 22 specialize in Electronics and Communication, while 13 are trained in Electrical engineering.

“These recruitments aim to strengthen the power department’s human resources, ensuring uninterrupted electricity services for the people of Punjab,” Singh said.

Breaking down the figures, the minister disclosed that 4,444 recruitments were made in PSPCL and 782 in PSTCL through direct hiring, with an additional 1,360 individuals recruited on compassionate grounds.

“The government remains committed to creating maximum employment opportunities for the youth while enhancing service delivery across sectors,” he added.

During the ceremony, Singh interacted with the newly recruited engineers, inquiring about their educational backgrounds and workplace preferences.

He congratulated them and encouraged commitment to their responsibilities, expressing confidence in their contributions to improving Punjab’s power sector.

Singh underscored the Punjab Government’s ongoing efforts to prioritize youth employment since the government’s formation in March 2022 under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

“Over 50,000 jobs have already been provided to Punjab’s youth. These efforts reflect the government’s pledge to enhance infrastructure and services, particularly in the power sector,” he said.

The minister reiterated the state’s focus on providing the best electricity services and assured that additional efforts would be made to boost employment while ensuring the efficiency of PSPCL and PSTCL operations.
