Mumbai, August 23: Mahindra’s BE 6 Batman Edition SUV sold out within minutes of bookings opening on Saturday, with all 999 units snapped up in just 135 seconds, the automaker said.
Initially planned as a 300-unit collector’s edition, Mahindra expanded the allocation to 999 units after witnessing massive interest. Bookings opened at 11 a.m., with each customer securing a vehicle by paying ₹21,000. Deliveries are scheduled to begin September 20.
Mahindra said the sell-out marked a milestone for its electric SUV lineup and reflected its Unlimit India vision, showcasing homegrown EV design and technology. “This achievement is a symbol of global-first innovations that inspire pride, passion and progress,” the company said in a statement.
The Batman Edition was unveiled on August 14, on the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP).
The limited-run electric SUV is priced at ₹27.79 lakh (ex-showroom, without charger and installation). Buyers can opt for a 7.2 kW or 11.2 kW charger at additional cost.
Finished in a custom Satin Black shade, the BE 6 Batman Edition features 20-inch R20 alloy wheels, Alchemy Gold-painted suspension and brake callipers, and an Infinity Roof etched with the Bat emblem.
The car’s lighting includes Night Trail carpet lamps that project the Bat symbol onto the ground.
Mahindra said the edition draws on Batman’s enduring legacy as a symbol of intelligence, skill and technical prowess. “Admired by children and adults alike, the Batman Edition of the BE 6 gives fans a tangible way to connect with one of the most iconic figures in popular culture,” the automaker added.
