Mumbai/New Delhi, March 14— Bollywood actor John Abraham met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday, discussing diplomacy, football, and the Northeast ahead of the release of his new film The Diplomat.
Jaishankar shared photos from the meeting on X, including one where they held a jersey bearing the number 9 and his name. “An interesting conversation with @TheJohnAbraham on his new movie The Diplomat. As also on football, the North East and our respective worlds,” he posted.
Abraham called the meeting an “honor” and said, “We discussed diplomacy, the North East and football among many other things. Truly an honour Sir! @DrSJaishankar @NEUtdFC #TheDiplomat.”
Directed by Shivam Nair, The Diplomat—inspired by real events—releases Friday. Abraham plays a diplomat on a mission to rescue an Indian woman, Uzma (Sadia Khateeb), from Pakistan.
