Mumbai, March 16 —John Abraham’s The Diplomat has earned ₹12.68 crore at the box office by the end of its opening weekend, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.com. The film, which had a low pre-release buzz, has seen a steady collection over three days.
The Diplomat opened with ₹4 crore on Friday, followed by ₹4.65 crore on Saturday. Sunday’s collection stood at ₹4.03 crore, with a reported 19.71% Hindi occupancy.
The film follows a high-stakes mission where a woman escapes from Pakistan to seek refuge at the Indian Embassy.
Despite its performance, The Diplomat faces competition from Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The historical drama, now in its fifth week, earned ₹6.81 crore on its 31st day, pushing its total collection to ₹561.46 crore.
