Gurdaspur, April 7: Foreign-based gangster Happy Passia on Monday claimed his men attacked the Kila Lal Singh police station with a rocket launcher, triggering alarm in the region.
Senior police officials, however, denied any such incident took place. SSP Suhail Qasim Mir said he received a call around 3 a.m. about the alleged attack and dispatched a DSP-led team to investigate.
“The team found no evidence of an attack. We later launched a comprehensive combing operation, which also yielded nothing. Still, an FIR has been registered at the same police station as a precaution,” said the SSP.
Passia made the claim through a post on social media, asserting that the strike was carried out by his group.
Another officer said local rumours had circulated about an incident during the night, but nothing suspicious was found during follow-up checks.
