Mohali, April 8:— Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force has arrested two key operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi–Rohit Godara gang—Jashan Sandhu and Gursewak Singh—from Mohali, officials confirmed on Monday.

Sandhu, wanted in connection with a 2023 murder case in Ganganagar, Rajasthan, had been on the run across multiple countries, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. According to investigators, he entered India by road through Nepal after flying from Dubai, attempting to evade law enforcement.

“His arrest marks a significant breakthrough in our efforts to dismantle the Bishnoi-Godara network,” an official said. Preliminary interrogation has revealed Sandhu’s role in providing logistic support to the gang and has led to key leads on international hawala operators, travel agents, and the current locations of fugitive gang members hiding abroad.

A .32-caliber pistol and seven live cartridges were recovered from the duo at the time of arrest. The task force said further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the gang’s overseas operations.
