HISAR, May 26 — A 20-year-old student was killed and several others injured on Monday morning when a Haryana Roadways bus overturned near Rajli village on the Hisar–Rajli road.
The accident occurred when the overcrowded bus, reportedly carrying around 65 passengers, many of them students, was en route to Hisar. According to initial accounts, the driver attempted to steer around a fallen tree obstructing the road. In the process, the vehicle veered onto the muddy shoulder, lost balance, and overturned.
The deceased was identified as Khushi Mohammad, a resident of Rajli village, who died on the spot. At least four girl students sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Villagers from nearby areas responded swiftly, rushing to the scene and helping rescue passengers trapped inside the bus.
Officials have yet to confirm whether an FIR has been registered. The condition of the injured students remains under observation at the hospital.
