CHANDIGARH, August 20— The state government has enacted a significant administrative shake-up, issuing transfer orders for 31 officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Punjab Civil Service (PCS), and the Indian Forest Service (IFS).
The transfers, which include 22 IAS officers, eight PCS officers, and one IFS officer, are effective immediately. The move brings new leadership to three key districts.
In the reshuffle, the districts of Bathinda, Mansa, and Sangrur will each receive a new deputy commissioner (DC). Rajesh Dhiman has been posted as the new DC for Bathinda, while Navjot Kaur will take charge as the DC of Mansa. Rahul Chaba has been assigned the role of DC for Sangrur.
The government’s decision to reassign these officials is noted to be part of a broader strategy to streamline governance and enhance administrative efficiency across the state.
