Mohali, Oct 4: Teams from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran delivered stellar performances at the IKGPTU Inter-College Volleyball Tournament, held on campus from September 30 to October 1, 2025. The women’s volleyball team claimed the overall first position, while the men’s teams secured the first and third spots, marking an impressive sweep for the host institution.
The two-day tournament saw participation from over 25 teams representing various colleges affiliated with IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU). The event was inaugurated by DIG S. Sukhpal Singh Brar (IPS), Arjuna Awardee, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Awardee, and former Captain of the Indian Volleyball Team.
Matches were marked by intense competition and spirited participation. “These results reflect the commitment, practice and discipline of our players,” said Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, CGC Landran, while congratulating the winners.
“At CGC, we believe that academics and sports go hand in hand in shaping well-rounded individuals. This achievement demonstrates the strength and determination of our student athletes.”
The tournament concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where the winning teams were honoured with trophies and medals, celebrating their hard work and sporting excellence.
