Rajvir Jawanda’s Condition Still Critical, Say Doctors

Mohali, Oct 5: Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda continues to battle for life at Fortis Hospital, where doctors on Saturday said his condition remains “critical” with “minimal brain activity” despite intensive medical care.

Hospital authorities noted that there has been no significant improvement in Jawanda’s neurological response. “He remains on prolonged ventilator support, and his brain activity continues to be minimal,” the medical team said in a statement.

MRI scans have shown severe damage, doctors added. The brain imaging indicated hypoxic changes—a condition that occurs when tissues and organs do not receive adequate oxygen—while the MRI of the spine revealed extensive injuries to the cervical and dorsal regions. “These spinal injuries have resulted in profound weakness in all four limbs,” a senior neurologist at the hospital mentioned.

Jawanda was admitted on September 27 after his motorcycle collided with stray cattle that suddenly came onto the road. The impact left him with severe head and spinal injuries.

Since the accident, doctors have been providing advanced life support and continuous monitoring. “Our entire medical team is doing everything possible, but his condition remains extremely fragile,” the hospital’s statement further noted.

Family members and fans have gathered outside the hospital, praying for his recovery.
