Jalandhar, Oct 8: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will begin his two-day tour of Punjab today, covering Jalandhar and Bathinda districts. He will be accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann during the visit.
According to party officials, Kejriwal will inaugurate power transmission and distribution projects worth ₹5,000 crore on the first day of his tour, where he will be the chief guest. The event will mark a major infrastructure milestone for the state’s power sector.
Later in the day, Kejriwal and Mann will attend the ‘One India 2025’ National Cultural Festival at Lovely Professional University (LPU), where students from across the country are participating.
On the second day, the AAP leaders will lay the foundation stone for 3,100 new sports grounds across Punjab. The ambitious project, to be built at a cost of ₹1,184 crore, aims to boost sports infrastructure and nurture young talent in rural and urban areas alike.
The visit is seen as part of the party’s continued focus on development and public welfare initiatives in Punjab ahead of key political months.
