KUALA LUMPUR, October 31 — Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday held a bilateral meeting with Singapore’s Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing in Kuala Lumpur, focusing on ways to deepen strategic and defence cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting took place as part of Singh’s visit to Malaysia to attend the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus), scheduled for November 1. Officials said both ministers reviewed ongoing collaborations in defence technology and training, and discussed regional security challenges in the Indo-Pacific.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to a stable, rules-based order in the region and underlined the importance of joint exercises and capacity-building. According to a Defence Ministry release, the meeting “reflected the continuing momentum in bilateral cooperation and mutual trust built over decades.”
Singh is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with counterparts from other participating countries on the sidelines of ADMM-Plus, aimed at expanding India’s partnerships under the “Act East” policy.
