Chandigarh, November 6: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday invited US-based electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla to establish a manufacturing unit in the state, assuring full government support for the venture.

Saini met a delegation from Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Limited, the company’s Indian subsidiary, which had called on him to extend an invitation for the inauguration of its upcoming Experience Centre in Gurugram. The delegation was led by Isabel Fan, Tesla’s South-East Asia director.

During the meeting, Saini said Haryana’s existing automobile ecosystem and industrial infrastructure make it a suitable location for large-scale electric vehicle production. “Haryana is already a major automotive hub, and we would welcome Tesla to explore investment and manufacturing opportunities in the state,” he said.

Tesla India has leased nearly 51,000 square feet of space at Orchid Business Park on Sohna Road, Gurugram, for nine years at a starting monthly rent of ₹40.17 lakh. The facility will serve as the company’s Experience Centre, following similar launches in Mumbai and Delhi earlier this year.

Officials said Gurugram’s established network of vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers, and logistics connectivity could provide Tesla with a strong base for expansion in northern India.
