CHANDIGARH, Nov. 20 — Sri Anandpur Sahib is preparing to host a three-day religious congregation from November 23 to 25 to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, along with Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji. The event, organized by the Punjab government, aims to honor the legacy of courage, sacrifice, and humanity upheld by the Sikh Gurus.

The ceremony will begin with an Akhand Path, a continuous reading of the Guru Granth Sahib, in the presence of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convener Arvind Kejriwal. “In Sikh tradition, devotion and service come first,” said an official involved in the preparations, highlighting the spiritual focus of the event.

An exhibition dedicated to the life and sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will also be inaugurated, aiming to educate the youth about the Gurus’ commitment to protecting religion, human rights, and humanity.

On the morning of November 23, an interfaith conference will bring together representatives from diverse religions and communities to discuss unity, brotherhood, and human rights. Organizers noted that Sikh history carries a universal message: defending truth and respecting all faiths.

In the evening, guided tours of Virasat-e-Khalsa and other historical monuments are planned, allowing visitors to connect with Sikh traditions and heritage. The day will conclude with a drone show depicting the Gurus’ martyrdom and the legacy of the Khalsa Panth through modern visual storytelling.

Over the three days, katha (religious discourse), kirtan (devotional singing), and acts of service will create an atmosphere of devotion and reflection. Officials said the event represents not only a remembrance of history but also an opportunity to embrace Sikhism’s core principles of courage, sacrifice, and universal humanity.

“This congregation is a living embodiment of Punjab’s soul and heritage,” a government source said. “It is a matter of pride for every Punjabi.”
