Abducted Soldier Found In Kokernag Forests

Srinagar/New Delhi: The body of a Territorial Army soldier, who was abducted late Wednesday evening, has been found in the forests of Kokernag in Anantnag, south Kashmir.

The soldier has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Mukdhampur in Nowgam, Anantnag.

According to a senior police officer quoted by news agency GNS, the soldier’s body was recovered today.

Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the soldier’s death and his abduction, he said.

Previously, the army’s Chinar Corps launched a major search and rescue operation to locate the missing soldier.
