Chandigarh, Nov 29: A 30-year-old student from Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri district was stabbed to death in Worcester, United Kingdom, on November 25, his family said, urging New Delhi to help repatriate the body.

The victim, Vijay Kumar Sheoran, was studying at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. His brother, Ravi Kumar, wrote to the Ministry of External Affairs requesting immediate intervention. “Our family is devastated by this unfortunate incident,” he said. “We request the Ministry’s support in bringing my brother’s mortal remains back to India for the last rites. The foreign procedures and legal formalities are impossible for us to manage alone.”

Ravi said the family suspects the involvement of “some individuals from Haryana and Punjab living in the UK,” though local police have not shared any details. He appealed to Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini for help in coordinating documentation and transport.

According to West Mercia Police, a man was found with serious injuries on Barbourne Road around 4.15 am on November 25 and later died at the hospital. Officers said five men were arrested on suspicion of murder and are on bail, while a sixth man was released with no further action. The investigation is ongoing.
