Kangri, Dec 2: Two youths were killed and two others injured when a car skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near the world-famous paragliding take-off site in Bir Billing, Kangra district. Police said the accident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
“The car went off the road near the paragliding launch area, resulting in two fatalities on the spot. The other two occupants sustained serious injuries,” a senior police officer directly said.
Local residents alerted authorities after witnessing the crash. A rescue team retrieved the injured from the gorge and rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding or poor nighttime visibility may have contributed to the accident.
