Patiala, Feb 2: Dera Radha Soami Satsang Beas head Gurinder Singh Dhillon met with Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia at Nabha jail on Monday, marking his second visit to the facility. The meeting took place amid heightened security and lasted approximately half an hour, drawing significant attention following recent high-profile visits to the jailed leader.

The visit came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Punjab tour and just days after SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal met Majithia last week.

Addressing the media after the interaction, Dhillon maintained that his visit was personal in nature and rooted in existing relationships. He expressed his belief in the innocence of the Akali leader regarding the legal challenges he currently faces.

“Won’t you meet if your relative is in jail? All cases against him are false,” Dhillon stated.

He further noted that the conversation touched upon matters common between friends, though he declined to provide specific details of their talk. When pressed on whether the leader was being framed, the Dera chief chose to remain silent, noting it would not be in his dignity to speculate further.

The visit occurs at a time when the jail administration has reportedly limited access for several senior Akali leaders seeking to meet with Majithia. The spiritual leader’s presence follows shortly after SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal’s visit last week and coincides with recent political movements in the state.

Majithia remains in judicial custody in relation to a drugs-related case and matters being probed by the Vigilance Bureau. The ongoing legal process includes a comprehensive chargesheet filed in a Mohali court following investigations into financial records.

The Dera Beas, which commands a vast following across Punjab and neighboring states, typically maintains a low profile regarding political developments. However, this interaction has led to widespread discussion within various social and political circles across the region.
