Investment roadshow positions Punjab as industrial hub for next generation

State delegation meets global giants to secure textile and logistics projects

Chandigarh, Feb 4: To foster entrepreneurship and economic expansion, the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government successfully concluded a series of outcome-oriented meetings with global investors in Mumbai. The primary objective remains the establishment of a robust industrial ecosystem that prioritizes skilled jobs for the local population.

The second day of the roadshow featured intensive one-to-one dialogues with major corporate houses. Representatives from the Punjab government noted that the state is ready to integrate with global markets by providing a stable and investor-friendly environment. Discussions with the Mahindra Group particularly focused on farm equipment and supply-chain integration, while talks with Sanathan Textiles centered on expanding the textile footprint.

“Punjab is a preferred destination for MSME-led industrial growth,” a senior official during the CXO Roundtable directly said. He mentioned that the government is actively working with financial partners like JM Financial and Avendus Wealth Management to provide structured support for growing businesses.

To strengthen logistics and exports, the delegation met with representatives from DP World. The spokesperson mentioned that the focus is on strengthening Punjab’s multimodal infrastructure to make the state a leader in logistics. Interactions also extended to the International Institute of Sports Management to explore opportunities in sports education and infrastructure.

The roadshow also saw participation from Invest India, which helped align Punjab’s state-level outreach with national investment goals. Government representatives noted that the engagements showcased the state’s readiness to promote research and development across various sectors. The delegation formally invited the gathered industry leaders to participate in the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026.
