Jhajjar, Feb 16: A Chartered Accountant is in police custody following the alleged murder of his wife near Pahsaur village under the jurisdiction of the Badli police station. The deceased, a private bank employee in Gurugram, was found dead with multiple injuries on Saturday night, leading to a criminal investigation by Jhajjar authorities.

The suspect, Anshul Dhawan, reportedly informed his family of an accident on the night of February 14. However, when the victim’s family reached the location, they discovered her body in an open field rather than a roadside accident scene. Investigators affirmed that the nature of the injuries, appearing to be from a sharp weapon, immediately raised suspicions of foul play.

Jhajjar police officials stated that the suspect’s narrative shifted during the initial inquiry. While he first claimed the couple had been victims of a loot attempt, officers maintained that the evidence did not support a robbery motive. The police spokesperson declared that the accused eventually confessed to the killing after being confronted with inconsistencies in his testimony.

The family of the deceased, Mahak, affirmed that the couple had been married for less than five months. They maintained that the circumstances pointed toward a planned crime rather than a spontaneous event or accident. Authorities affirmed that the case is being handled with a focus on the forensic evidence recovered from the scene as the legal proceedings move forward.
