CHANDIGARH, Feb 16 — Following the oath-taking ceremony for Village Defense Committees in Moga, AAP Punjab Media Incharge Baltej Pannu dismissed opposition criticism as the desperate noise of parties that have long benefited from the state’s drug problem. Pannu stated on Monday that the public has not forgotten the eras when narcotics allegedly flourished under the patronage of those then in power.

Pannu asserted that the current administration’s decision to organize large-scale public pledges is a necessary step in building a “Lok Lehar” or people’s wave. He stated that the opposition’s focus on the ceremony’s cost is hypocritical, given their own history of using official vehicles for illicit activities. He maintained that every rupee spent on the “War Against Drugs 2.0” is an investment in the state’s spiritual and social recovery.

“This is only the beginning,” Pannu remarked, quiping that if the opposition is already unsettled by a gathering of committee members, they will be unable to handle the momentum when entire villages join the cause. He affirmed that the awareness spreading through the VDCs is a direct threat to the political survival of those who thrived during Punjab’s most difficult years.

The media incharge concluded by stating that the Bhagwant Mann-led government is committed to a zero-tolerance policy against drug peddlers. He affirmed that while the opposition continues to create hurdles, the state will persist in its mission to restore Punjab’s glory and eliminate the influence of smugglers once and for all.
