Chandigarh, Feb 17: A dedicated platform for resolving the issues of Punjab’s trading community is being established to save time, effort, and financial resources for small business owners. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema affirmed that the Bhagwant Mann Government is committed to building a structured support system that prioritizes ease of doing business across the state.

The announcement follows a series of strategic meetings held in districts such as Moga, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Roopnagar. Government representatives met with local shopkeepers and entrepreneurs to ensure the new Punjab Trade Commission addresses the specific challenges faced by the business community. Cheema noted that for years, minor issues have caused significant delays for small traders, a trend the current administration intends to reverse.

“This government is determined to change the culture where small traders and shopkeepers were forced to waste valuable time moving between multiple offices,” the Minister stated. He asserted that the new commission would provide a faster resolution mechanism with clear accountability, ensuring that problems are not left pending indefinitely.

Minister Cheema declared that the commission is being formed with the spirit of transparency. He maintained that by providing guidance and quick solutions under one platform, the government is ensuring that the state’s administrative machinery works in favor of the business community. “Under one platform, traders will receive support, guidance and quick solutions, ensuring that governance works for them, not against them,” Cheema added.
