Jind, March 7: A devastating fire at a powdered color manufacturing facility in Haryana’s Jind district killed four women workers on Saturday. The incident occurred in a residential area of Bhaat Colony in Safidon, where the blaze reportedly started at the factory’s entrance before thick smoke filled the interior.

Jind Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh stated that the deceased included three women approximately 50 years of age and a 36-year-old worker. The officer maintained that approximately 11 other individuals sustained various injuries during the incident and are currently receiving medical care at a local hospital.

Witnesses noted that the intensity of the smoke forced some employees to leap from the factory roof to escape the flames. Local residents joined police and fire department personnel in a rescue operation that involved breaking down a boundary wall to reach those trapped inside the burning structure.

While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities affirmed that multiple fire tenders and ambulances were deployed to the site. The SP declared that a thorough probe is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy at the residential-based industrial unit.
