Chandigarh, March 21: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) Convenor Satnam Singh Sandhu joined the Muslim community at Eidgah in Manimajra on Saturday to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.

Leading a delegation from the IMF, Sandhu participated in the festivities marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, sharing greetings and sweets with those gathered for the traditional prayers.

During the event, the MP joined special prayers focused on communal harmony and the de-escalation of ongoing international conflicts.

“There is an urgent need to promote universal brotherhood and mutual understanding, particularly given the rising tensions in West Asia,” Sandhu stated.

“Such celebrations reinforce the nation’s commitment to goodwill and the path of love,” he added.

Members of the Muslim community present at the Eidgah noted that India has consistently championed the cause of global stability. They asserted that the current national leadership has successfully utilized diplomacy to advocate for peace, maintaining that the future of humanity lies in dialogue rather than warfare. Representatives stated that the Prime Minister’s stance—that this is not an era of war—serves as a guiding principle for resolving modern crises.

The gathering also recognized recent humanitarian efforts, citing India’s provision of aid to those affected by regional conflicts involving Iran and other nations.

Community members declared that such actions demonstrate that India is firmly on the side of peace. They maintained that decisive, peace-oriented leadership is essential to ushering in a new era of progress and prosperity for all citizens.

The event concluded with a collective message of unity, as participants affirmed their dedication to peaceful co-existence within the country and the wider world. Sandhu prayed that the occasion brings lasting happiness and peace to every household.
