Chandigarh, March 30: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured a major organizational victory on Monday as dozens of leaders and grassroots representatives from the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), and BJP officially defected to the party. The induction, which took place in Chandigarh, included nearly three dozen sarpanches, panches, and senior district-level functionaries.

Rajbir Singh Ghumman, OSD to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, formally welcomed the new members into the party fold. He affirmed that the consistent influx of leaders from opposition ranks reflects the growing public confidence in the development-oriented policies of the current Punjab government.

Prominent inductees included Sahib Singh Chhajjalwadi, Vice Chairman of the Punjab Congress SC Wing, and Sarabjit Kaur Dhaliwal, the Congress District President for the Women’s Wing in Amritsar (Rural). The wave of joinings also included former civil surgeons, block presidents, and several serving village heads from the Majha region.

“The continuous joining of leaders reflects the faith people have in the people-centric governance led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann,” Ghumman stated during the ceremony. He maintained that the addition of these experienced local leaders would further solidify the party’s foundation across the state.

The newly inducted members declared that they were motivated by the transparent administration and pro-people initiatives of the AAP government. They asserted their commitment to taking the government’s achievements to every household and strengthening the organization at the village level.
