CHANDIGARH, April 11 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday finalized a comprehensive roadmap for year-long celebrations to commemorate the upcoming 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji. The decision was reached during a high-level meeting at Punjab Bhawan with members of the Sant Samaj, who will provide spiritual guidance for the global observance.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to celebrating the landmark occasion in an unsurpassed manner to spread the Guru’s message of equality and human dignity. The planned events include statewide seminars, kirtan samagams, and “tirth yatras.” A significant environmental initiative will also see the development of “Guru Ravidass Bagichis” across 650 acres of panchayati land, involving the plantation of 6.50 lakh saplings per district.

“Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj ji envisioned an egalitarian society free from any form of discrimination,” the Chief Minister affirmed. He maintained that it is the collective duty of the government and the public to ensure these teachings reach the global stage. The main commemorative function is scheduled to be held at Khuralgarh, featuring the release of a special pendant and a grand exhibition on the Guru’s life.

The celebrations will also incorporate modern technology, including 3D projection mapping at Minar-e-Begumpura and specialized drone shows. Chief Minister Mann urged the Sant Samaj to continue guiding the administration with their inputs to ensure the programs remain true to the Guru’s philosophy. Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema and Lal Chand Kataruchak were among the senior officials present at the meeting.
