Patiala, April 28: Patiala Police on Tuesday announced the neutralisation of a pro-Khalistan terror module allegedly responsible for the recent attempted detonation on the Shambhu-Ambala railway line. Authorities arrested four individuals described as highly radicalised and recovered a significant cache of militant hardware, including a hand grenade, two .30 bore pistols, and advanced communication equipment.
DIG Patiala Range Kuldeep Chahal stated that the group operated under the direction of handlers based in Malaysia and Pakistan. He identified Pardeep Singh Khalsa of Mansa as the primary operative who reportedly managed a radical outfit named Chalda Vaheer Chakarwarti, Attariye. “Pardeep Singh Khalsa was the main kingpin,” Chahal affirmed, noting that the suspect was in close contact with international arms suppliers to facilitate terror activities within the state.
The investigation revealed that the module was not only responsible for the railway track incident but was also actively planning further strikes on public infrastructure. SSP Patiala Varun Sharma maintained that the arrests have likely averted additional attacks. He stated that the suspects, who include individuals from Mansa and Tarn Taran, were utilizing laptops and sophisticated devices to maintain encrypted contact with their foreign-based controllers.
