Chandigarh, May 8: Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President Aman Arora declared on Friday that he would permanently exit political life if any evidence of corruption or wrongdoing is found against him. The statement follows recent searches conducted by the Enforcement Directorate at the premises of real estate developers in New Chandigarh, where one developer was identified as a close associate of the AAP leader.

Arora maintained that the central agency’s actions are politically motivated and designed to damage his reputation through his personal connection to realtor Gaurav Dhir. He affirmed that while Dhir has been a personal friend for thirty years, there have never been any financial dealings between them.

“I will quit politics for good, if any wrongdoing is proved against me,” Arora stated during a press briefing. He asserted that the ED’s narrative changed between its first and second official communications, with his name only appearing in the latter as part of a deliberate attempt to target him.

The Punjab leader noted that he held the Housing department portfolio for only eight months during 2022-23 and challenged any builder to come forward with claims of extortion or favoritism. He also pointed out that another individual under investigation had previously donated to the BJP, questioning the focus of the current probe.

“The politics of arm twisting and defamation of Aman Arora will not work,” the AAP president affirmed. He declared his willingness to undergo a forensic examination of his phone to prove he has no links to illegal activities. Regarding the silence of other party leaders on the matter, Arora asserted that he is fully capable of defending his own integrity and long-standing political legacy.
