CHANDIGARH, May 15 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann presented cash awards of ₹50,000 each to three female students who achieved perfect scores in the Punjab School Education Board Class 12 examinations. During a ceremony held Thursday, the Chief Minister recognized Supneet Kaur of Mansa along with Suhani Chauhan and Divyanshi of Ludhiana for their flawless 500-mark tallies.

The results indicate a significant shift toward public sector excellence, as 122 of the 275 merit list spots were claimed by government school students. Furthermore, 416 government institutions across the state recorded a 100% pass rate. This academic success follows recent investments in campus infrastructure and modern classroom technology.

“It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that all the three toppers are national and state-level players, which clearly shows that they are excelling in every field,” the Chief Minister affirmed during his interaction with the students. He maintained that because these toppers come from humble backgrounds, the state remains committed to providing the necessary cooperation for their future endeavors.

The broader data shows an overall pass percentage of 91.46% across the state. Female students outperformed their male counterparts with a 94.73% pass rate compared to 88.52%. Out of approximately 2.65 lakh students who sat for the exams, 2.42 lakh were successful.

“Time has proved that girls are not inferior to boys in any context and by excelling in academics, they have shown that there is no match for their wisdom, skills and expertise,” Mann asserted.

The Chief Minister noted that Amritsar led the districts with a 96% pass rate, while Patiala produced the highest volume of merit holders with 59 students. When one topper shared her ambition to become an Air Force pilot, Mann suggested the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls as an ideal training ground for such a career.
