Ambala, May 24: A violent altercation over a property and financial dispute left three family members dead and another critically wounded after a man opened fire inside his home in Bichpari village, Haryana law enforcement officials confirmed.
The incident occurred late Saturday evening following an escalating disagreement centered on land ownership and monetary shares from a local soil excavation project. According to investigators, the accused, identified as Abhishek, drew a firearm during the argument and shot multiple family members at close range before fleeing the scene. His grandmother, Isro Devi, sustained fatal injuries and died at the spot, while three other relatives were left with severe gunshot wounds.
Specialized law enforcement wings have been mobilized across the district to track and apprehend the suspect.
“There was a dispute related to soil excavation,” the Shahzadpur Station House Officer (SHO) stated, adding that teams from the state Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) units, local police stations, and the Special Task Force (STF) are actively conducting raids to arrest the accused.
First responders rushed the three surviving victims to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Shahzadpur, where medical staff immediately referred them to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32) in Chandigarh due to their critical condition. However, the suspect’s elder brother, Sandeep, and his uncle, Mahinder, succumbed to their injuries while in transit to the facility. The suspect’s aunt, Sunita, remains under intensive medical care at the Chandigarh hospital, while a specialized forensic crime scene team has cordoned off the village site to collect ballistic evidence.
