New Delhi, July 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced the establishment of dedicated fast-track courts to ensure rapid and strict legal action against individuals involved in examination paper leak cases. The directive comes amid expanding nation-wide demonstrations regarding irregularities surrounding the NEET examinations, with central authorities instructing relevant departments to implement all necessary legal and administrative measures immediately to safeguard the interests of students.
Taking to social media, the Prime Minister assured citizens that those responsible for undermining the academic prospects of the country’s youth will face severe legal consequences. “Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared, maintaining that the step forms part of a broader sequence of interventions aimed at restoring faith in public competitive assessments.
The announcement follows widespread student-led agitations and march calls in the national capital, where activist groups have put forward key demands, including financial relief for affected families and the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. “Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is non-negotiable. Without this, the protest will continue. It will continue for as long as it has to,” student representative Sourav Das affirmed, while requesting that unnecessary police cases against peaceful demonstrators be withdrawn.
In response to the growing political friction, Union Health Minister JP Nadda stated that examination integrity remains a complex matter requiring thorough discussion rather than political confrontation. Meanwhile, student organizers have urged demonstrators to maintain non-violent methods, citing consultations with prominent climate activist Sonam Wangchuk to ensure public order is preserved during rallies across the country.
Violent skirmishes near protest sites in Delhi recently resulted in injuries to over 118 law enforcement personnel alongside around 60 injured demonstrators. Officials affirmed that police agencies are continuing to monitor security arrangements as public discussions around examination integrity proceed.
