Mohali, August 13: Punjab Police reported a steep decline of nearly forty-eight percent in road traffic fatalities along designated patrol routes managed by the dedicated Sadak Surakhya Force. Officials in Mohali shared operational data spanning the past two years, demonstrating that focused highway monitoring has altered safety metrics across major transit corridors.
Reviewing the performance metrics, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav declared that the dedicated force attended to tens of thousands of accident calls since its inception. He stated, “Personnel received specialised training, including crash investigation and emergency medical response. For the last two years, reports consistently show a massive 45-48 percent drop in road accident fatalities on the specific highway stretches they patrol.” The head of the police force maintained that overall mortalities dropped significantly on manned stretches, preserving hundreds of lives.
Outlining future technological integrations, police administration affirmed plans to implement a 3D policing operational model combining satellite monitoring, automated aerial systems, and artificial intelligence predictive tools. Special Director General of Police Amardeep Singh Rai maintained that personnel remain strictly assigned to highway protection rather than routine administrative duties. He asserted that teams operate on rapid emergency response targets to reach accident locations swiftly, providing immediate aid before transporting victims to healthcare facilities.
