NEW DELHI, AUGUST 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Red Fort address on the 80th Independence Day has drawn sharp criticism from the Cockroach Janta Party following his reference to individuals with a “dimagi Naxal” mindset. Speaking at the national flag hoisting ceremony, PM Modi asserted that while armed Naxalism is nearing its end, people possessing a “dimagi Naxal” orientation continue to seek opportunities to spark unrest and must be identified and isolated from the mainstream.
Reacting strongly to the address, Cockroach Janta Party chief spokesperson Saurav Das rejected the classification, maintaining that educated young citizens cannot be branded as Naxalites simply for holding the administration accountable.
“Dimagi Naxal or whatever is not going to work, Prime Minister. How could you loosely brand educated young people ‘Naxalites’, etc.? Just because they question your government? Sheer arrogance!” Das stated in a public post on X.
The CJP spokesperson framed the Prime Minister’s remarks as an attempt to divide the younger generation into competing political camps. Pointing out the growing civic engagement among Gen Z, Das affirmed that a generation previously urged to remain silent has found its voice, adding that peaceful assembly spaces are emerging across every district in the country.
The pushback follows widespread youth-led demonstrations regarding the 2026 UG NEET examination paper leak, which previously resulted in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the suspension of National Testing Agency officials.
