NEW DELHI, AUGUST 31: A new political flashpoint has emerged after a teenager at the center of a previous controversy released a fresh video accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of causing severe harassment to her life. The video, widely circulated by both the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress, depicts the young girl describing the intense public scrutiny and personal turmoil she experienced following her earlier comments at a Jantar Mantar protest.
The teenager, identified under the pseudonym Ruchika Singh, maintained in the recording that she has faced continuous intimidation despite earlier public apologies. Political opposition leaders asserted that the case represents an overreach of power against a minor, noting that her family was forced to leave their Noida residence following intense media and police inquiry. The allegations presented in the video remain independently unverified.
The dispute traces back to a July protest where derogatory remarks were allegedly directed at the Prime Minister, leading to a Zero FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Prime Minister Modi had previously suggested that young individuals involved in such incidents should be forgiven and given an opportunity to reform. The family’s legal representative maintained that the teenager is a minor studying through open schooling, reiterating concerns over improper procedure and persistent harassment.
