Lucknow, August 31: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the ‘Visit My State Uttar Pradesh’ campaign, aiming to engage young residents as cultural ambassadors to promote destination stories across the state. Organized by UP Tourism, the initiative encourages Gen Z participants to create 60-second reels showcasing the heritage, cuisine, traditions, and hidden gems of their respective cities.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh asserted that the state’s rich cultural identity spans every district, city, and village. He stated that through this initiative, young residents can present their cities in their own words, enabling travelers to explore Uttar Pradesh through personal and engaging perspectives.
Under the guidelines, participants must record a video up to 60 seconds long in Hindi or English, appearing on camera with clear visibility and audio. The video must be shot outdoors with a recognizable tourist landmark in the background, concluding with the line, “Visit My State Uttar Pradesh.” Submissions are being accepted online, with additional guidance provided through UP Tourism’s official social media platforms.
UPSTDC Chairman and Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture, and Religious Affairs, Amrit Abhijat, affirmed that the project puts residents at the center of destination storytelling. He maintained that these short video reels will combine popular landmarks with fresh perspectives, uniting the state’s offerings across heritage, nature, craft, and cuisine into a single connected journey.
The campaign highlights diverse regional experiences, allowing participants from regions such as Lucknow, Braj, Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, and the Terai to feature local traditions, crafts, and everyday life. By leveraging digital formats popular among younger audiences, the state government seeks to foster participatory tourism promotion and enhance local visibility.
