CHANDIGARH, August 31 — Haryana Police is establishing a dedicated Artificial Intelligence Task Force to ensure the secure integration of advanced technology across its operational and investigative wings. Spearheaded by an officer of IPS rank, the specialized unit aims to modernize complaint management, streamline court processes, and enhance digital public services.
Addressing the evolving nature of crime, Director General of Police Ajay Singhal maintained that law enforcement must stay ahead of technological adoption by offenders. He affirmed that artificial intelligence will make policing faster, more accurate, and increasingly data-driven. The state police chief stressed that these technological tools are designed to augment and strengthen human experience rather than replace officer judgment.
Alongside operational enhancements, the initiative prioritizes advanced cybercrime investigation tools. Superintendent of Police, Cyber, Mayank Gupta asserted that parsing vast quantities of digital records and banking transactions presents significant manual challenges. To address this, the force is actively developing AI-assisted financial trail analysis to detect suspicious transaction patterns, map out fund flows, and flag critical linkages. By accelerating preliminary data analysis, the system allows investigating officers to focus their attention on crucial field verification, suspect interrogation, and core human-led procedures.
