CHANDIGARH/MOHALI – Senior architect Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia assumed the leadership of the Indian Institute of Architects Punjab Chapter after securing 61 percent of the total votes in the recent elections. The democratic exercise, conducted online simultaneously across various state centers, saw enthusiastic participation from the architectural fraternity.
Outlining his key priorities upon taking office, the newly elected Chairman stated that the Punjab Chapter’s main focus centers on facilitating professional growth, strengthening unity, and enhancing knowledge sharing among members. He affirmed that special emphasis will be given to improving coordination among centers and fostering constructive collaboration with all stakeholders, including government bodies, to advance the architectural profession and built environment throughout the region.
The state body saw several other office bearers elected to key positions. Dinesh Bhagat of Jalandhar assumed the role of Vice Chairman, while Rajan Tangri from Ludhiana and Sanjay Kumar from Jalandhar were elected as Joint Secretaries. R.S. Sandhu secured the position of Treasurer. Ten executive members representing various regions were also chosen, including Ravinder Singh, Pooja Varmani, Sanchi Goyal, Prabhpreet Singh, and Simranjit Singh from Ludhiana; Rajinder Kaur and Amanjit Kaur from Mohali; alongside Rakesh Arora, Manisha Jindal, and Mohan Singh from Patiala.
Ahluwalia, who actively practices in Mohali and Patiala while serving as a Director of Ludhiana Smart City Limited, expressed his gratitude to the members for their overwhelming trust. He declared that the incoming team will work collaboratively to expand professional opportunities and ensure active participation across all regional hubs, including Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Mohali, Bathinda, Kapurthala, and Hoshiarpur.
