Moga, Sept 28: A devastating incident took place at Badni Khurd village in Moga district on Sunday, claiming the lives of two young farm workers after they came into contact with a snapped power line in a paddy field.
The deceased have been identified as Gurpreet Singh and Chand Singh, both residents of nearby Raoke Kalan village. Local sources maintained that the victims, both in their early thirties, were employed as daily wage labourers to support their families.
The mishap occurred when the two men were walking through the field and inadvertently stepped on a live electrical conductor that had severed and fallen to the ground. Both individuals sustained severe shocks and succumbed on the spot.
A wave of profound grief swept across Raoke Kalan village as news of the sudden deaths reached residents, who gathered to mourn the loss of the young men.
Local authorities have been apprised of the occurrence, and further administrative procedures are underway to examine the circumstances surrounding the electrical line failure.
