OHIO, OCT 3: Shree Swaminarayan Vadtal Dham Hindu Mandir in Richmond Heights, Ohio, suffered extensive property damage after individuals hurled bricks at the structure on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:30 PM while priests and devotees remained inside the sanctuary.

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) maintained that perpetrator(s) threw bricks directly at the temple, causing significant destruction. The organization stated that surveillance footage is being actively reviewed by authorities, while federal agencies, including the FBI Civil Rights Division, have been alerted. HAF leadership asserted that law enforcement must make apprehending those responsible a top priority, noting that the event coincides with a period of heightened hostility directed toward the Hindu American community.

Confirming the details, the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) reported that the assault in the Greater Cleveland area resulted in several shattered windows. The coalition affirmed that the attack transpired as local celebrations commenced for Hindu Heritage Month and ahead of Navratri observances. CoHNA declared that local leadership, including Richmond Heights Mayor Kim Thomas, should publicly address the situation while police carry out their investigation.

Authorities have not named any suspects or confirmed arrests at this stage. Community organizations continue to document similar incidents across the country to assist officials in addressing safety concerns for places of worship.
