Lucknow, Oct 6: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented a comprehensive record of Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth on Tuesday, declaring that the state has transformed from a tech consumer into a major production hub.
Outlining the state’s progress on social media platform X, the Chief Minister showcased significant achievements including a $3,706-crore HCL-Foxconn chip manufacturing facility in Jewar, proposals for 644 MW data centers, and an ecosystem housing over 24,000 startups and eight unicorns.
The Chief Minister asserted that the state now accounts for nearly 60 percent of India’s mobile phone manufacturing and 55 percent of its electronics components. The expansion spans from mobile assembly to semiconductor microchips, supported by projects like AI City and the AI-Pragya initiative aimed at training one million youth in emerging technologies.
Sharply criticizing preceding administrations, Adityanath contrasted current industrial growth with conditions prior to 2017, arguing that earlier governance prioritized dynastic politics and mafia interests over economic stability.
“When there was greater concern for families than the state and for criminals than investors, how could an environment for the technology of the future have been created?” written Chief Minister Adityanath on X, maintaining that previous governments kept the state trapped in the ‘BIMARU’ category.
State leaders emphasized that combining clear policy, targeted investment, and production frameworks fulfilled central development goals.
“Uttar Pradesh was once a market for technology; today, it is becoming a producer of technology,” stated Chief Minister Adityanath, who declared that the double-engine government translated national vision into grounded reality.
The Chief Minister noted that the transformation journey continues with a landmark event in Lucknow on Tuesday marking 10 years of HCLTech in the state, alongside the inauguration of a new Emerging Tech Skilling Centre.
