New Delhi, Oct 10: Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk shared media reports on social media concerning corporate political donations and promotional activities while expressing concerns over pending regulatory authorizations for Starlink satellite broadband operations in India.

The posts referenced investigative coverage regarding social media campaign spending and political bond contributions linked to corporate entities, following public comments questioning market access and licensing timelines for satellite internet networks.

Musk maintained that satellite broadband infrastructure remains essential for expanding digital connectivity and educational access across remote areas.

Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia clarified the government position during the India Mobile Congress, stating that the regulatory framework for telecom and satellite services operates without preference or market exclusivity.

Officials confirmed that multiple satellite service providers, including Starlink, Jio Satellite Communications, and Eutelsat OneWeb, hold preliminary authorization and will receive spectrum allocations once pricing mechanisms and security clearances are finalized by relevant administrative bodies.

Industry executives from Reliance Jio declined to comment on the social media exchange, affirming focus on local infrastructure development and service execution.
