NEW DELHI, OCT 13: Leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party, identified as Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were detained by Delhi Police on Tuesday while attempting to reach Jantar Mantar.
Police sources affirmed that several other members of the organization, including Ajinkya Shinde, were similarly intercepted and taken into custody during the police action. Law enforcement agencies asserted that heavy security deployments had been established across the capital to manage demonstrations concerning electoral roll revisions.
Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the CJP, declared through social media that party members carrying the national flag had managed to enter the designated protest area before being apprehended by authorities. Video footage shared by the founder captured members scaling a security gate while shouting patriotic slogans as police personnel rushed to secure the perimeter. Dipke maintained that official actions would fail to suppress public dissent, asserting that the movement’s resistance cannot be neutralized.
Authorities stated that the police measures were implemented to preserve public order amid planned demonstrations directed at the Chief Election Commissioner over procedural concerns. Officials maintained that the detained individuals were being questioned as security forces continued to monitor movement around critical points in New Delhi. Representatives of the organization declared that their campaign for accountability would persist despite the police interventions.
