MUMBAI/CHANDIGARH, OCT 14: Punjab authorities have apprehended a central suspect linked to the fatal shooting of social media personality Mad Sandhu.
Counter Intelligence from Jalandhar, acting alongside the Anti-Terrorism Squad in Mumbai, took the individual into custody in Maharashtra’s capital. Law enforcement officials maintained that the operation also led to the recovery of multiple firearms, magazines, and live ammunition.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that preliminary findings point to the suspect’s involvement in coordinating weapons, financial backing, and logistical support for the attackers under direction from overseas handlers.
Furthermore, authorities declared that the detained individual admitted participation in separate extortion-related shooting incidents within the Tarn Taran region.
This development follows a series of related arrests conducted across multiple states as investigators piece together the conspiracy behind the October 3 attack on Loharka Road in Amritsar.
Commissionerate Police previously secured custody of two additional suspects in Gujarat who allegedly conducted reconnaissance prior to the incident, while six other individuals faced arrest earlier through joint efforts with Gujarat authorities.
Officials asserted that the broader investigation remains active as teams work to map out the complete network and uncover all forward and backward linkages associated with the crime.
